'Jethro Tull' still due here (Roger Waters Still Thick as a Brick)

Rock flautist Ian Anderson

From Ynew News:

Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull's soloist and flutist, is still planning to come to Israel. 'I don’t think any of us should succumb to terror, I am afraid of coming to Israel but I am also afraid to cross the street'

Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull's soloist and flutist since 1967, is due to appear in Israel on October 16th, 2006 for the fifth time. Anderson will be playing in concert with the Raanana Symphony Orchestra set to take place at the city's famed amphitheatre.

As of now, it doesn’t appear as though the concert is likely be cancelled.

Here's hoping he doesn't do a Roger Waters' on his visit here.

Historians: Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Was Overreaction (Satire)

Europe's view of the present Israeli offensive against Hezbollah as an "overreaction" and "disproportionate use of force" is rooted in relatively recent history, say progressive researchers.

In 1943
, Europe itself suffered from a similar Jewish overreaction to some controversial German policies, in an event known as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, when Zionist radicals attacked the National Socialist German Workers Party that was loved by the German people for its far-reaching educational and social welfare services.

In fact, many academics who teach Peace Studies at prestigious universities believe that it was the Zionists' "disproportionate use of force" that had ruined hopes for peace in Europe and caused a humanitarian crisis that could have easily be avoided if only Jews had shown restraint and tolerance towards the democratically elected German government.

My Sally Field moment...

(Sally Field, Best Actress for "Places in the Heart," 1985 Oscars:
"I haven't had an orthodox career, and I've wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn't feel it, but this time I feel it, and I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!" )

And over 20,000 hits to-date! Someone please stop me before my mascara runs...

Powerful testimony of a northern Israel resident (video)

This resident of Israel's north is fed up with a month of non-stop Katyusha strikes, and compares the war to Islamic terror attacks worldwide.

Northern Exposures (Exclusive video, audio, photos)

Took part in an all-day visit to communities, bomb shelters and a forward IDF post along the northern border with a US Israel supporter who handed out hundreds of gifts, food and good cheer. I will be posting exclusive video, audio, and many photos from the heartwrenching, sometimes frightening trek. But utterly exhausterated for now. Will be back soon...

Among the highlights:
  • Visiting with wounded soldiers, their families and staff at Nahariya's Western Galilee hospital
  • Talking with a former Montrealer and veteran Israeli from Nahariya, who's been stuck in a bomb shelter for almost a month
  • Clowning around with kids in the same shelter, to cheer their spirits
  • Talking with guitar-playing, tank-fixing troops, deployed eyeball-to-eyeball with Hizbullah
  • Getting sonically pummeled when caught in between a northward-bound IDF artillery barrage and a salvo of southbound Katyushas and mortars
